It&#8217;s estimated that data centres, which house internet, business and telecommunications systems and store the bulk of our data, consume close to 4 percent of the worlds power supply. Solar Host&#039;s data centre, located in Romoland, California is reported to be the first 100% solar powered data centre. It is equipped with backup generators that run on propane gas.
